Any Japanese food lover will tell you that the two are vastly different. I was really excited about Ajitoya opening in Seddon and have been really disappointed with the less than ordinary sushi.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2166641060916490585.post-24263392582726035442011-12-14T15:06:30.112+11:002011-12-14T15:06:30.112+11:00Absolutely PERFECT!! I've still got the dashi stock powder in my pantry too but never know what else to use them for besides noodle soups. Can't wait to try! And I LOVE anything with Jap Mayo. I could eat grass if it had Jap Mayo on it. Resonating to what Bryan said, I think those marinara mixes would go well too. Thanks for sharing =)Winstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07536704297054335614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2166641060916490585.post-56597780327193228132011-12-13T22:59:35.501+11:002011-12-13T22:59:35.501+11:00I was expecting seafood in it, but there isn't...I was expecting seafood in it, but there isn't! Love how dashi forms the gentle basis of most Japanese dishes. You should try making it from scratch using sea kelp and bonito flakes - amazing!Fatbooohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14183993346428249697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2166641060916490585.post-75841671233483243452011-12-13T17:26:52.150+11:002011-12-13T17:26:52.150+11:00yay a recipe post! They make these REALLY good at Tookaiya on Keilor Rd Niddrie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2166641060916490585.post-66802494232276520392011-12-13T14:55:38.832+11:002011-12-13T14:55:38.832+11:00Yum! I had my first Okonomiyaki at that similarly authentic institution, Chaddy, about 19 years ago (eep!) ;-) and my memory is that those ones also had peas in them. I have since had the Highpoint ones a few times but reckon they weren't as good. Can't wait to try these and I suppose 1/2 cup of frozen peas in the mix would be very do-able :-)Lauren Rnoreply@blogger.com
